When
we first saw Hope her feet were in terrible condition -
the result of severe founder.
We
had our veterinarian take X-rays, and our farrier Dave
Steele came out to trim her feet and fit her with pads.
Several times during the process she attempted to stand
on her newly trimmed foot, actually lifting the old foot
trying to balance herself. The shaking in her leg was
an obvious sign of her trying to encourage unused muscle
to become useful again.
Approximately one year after giving birth to Special, Hope developed
a large
boney growth on her face (osteoma.) The growth was growing quite
fast so it was very important she receive immediate surgery.

Because of a generous donation by Bonnie, Hope was able
to have her surgery.
